Accessibility statement for the ‘Plan Shared Parental Leave and Pay’ service

This service allows users to plan their shared parental leave and pay.

This website is run by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, so we have designed it to be accessible. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How we tested this website

This shared parental leave and pay website was tested by the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) in April 2020 and retested in May 2020.

The website was assessed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1

The initial test set a baseline and the retest was used to validate responses to the test recommendations.

We also use automated accessibility testing as part of our development practices and resolve issues before new functionality is released. We use Pa11y with our quality assurance processes.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

This website is continually tested using accessibility software. Any new features which are introduced will also be tested internally.
